However, the huge gap between the Mets and the rest of the Wild Card teams means that, despite playing much, much better, things are still looking fairly bleak for the club. Discussions include Ryan Clifford's all of nothing approach, the injury to Mark Vientos, and Juan Soto's sole All-Star appointment.
